National Archives description: "Scope & Content Documentary: Dr. David Gottlieb, Director of Plans and Programs, explains that socially alienated youth come from a tradition of poverty, and that is the goal of the Job Corps to help them build productive lives. He uses film and slides to illustrate that these youths are boxed into their situations because their parents are often unemployed and their home lives are unstable. Shows a girl who had to quit school to find employment, and unskilled man receiving his welfare check and poverty families lacking education and skills." National Archives Identifier: 72839
